SOLAR FARM INCREASES WINTER PRODUCTIVITY WITH
SPEARHEAD ORBITALS

Spearhead has recently supplied two of its largest TWIGA Orbital Reach Mowers for use in one of the largest Solar Farms in the Czech Republic.
With over 190,000 solar modules, covering some 85 hectares operational efficiency is key. In summer this can mean revenues of up to €160,000 per day are achievable, but in winter due to decreased levels of solar radiation an average of €14,000 per day is achieved.
Whilst the winter yield is small it is still significant but it can however be totally wiped out by the fall of snow. This is where the Spearhead machines are making their mark in helping the plant to achieve its full potential.
Fitted with Spearhead’s ‘Autopilot’ advanced hands free control system the TWIGA Orbital’s working height is automatically adjusted in order to provide the perfect pressure on the solar surface and mounted with a specially designed clearing brush adapted by Czech Importer, Dagros Ltd the machine safely and quickly removes falling snow.
The operator of the Solar Farm praised the machines output confirming that the TWIGA Orbital fitted with the new cleaning system had paid for itself within a few days by helping protect against lost revenue in periods of severe snow fall.
